Responsive Government

City Hall should make your life easier, not harder.

Residents shouldn’t have to understand how City Hall is organized just to get City Hall working for them.

You shouldn’t have to call multiple departments to figure out who can help. You shouldn’t have to search different websites and social media accounts to find out what is happening in your neighbourhood. And when a City facility or program you rely on is disrupted, you should know what is happening, how long it may last and what your options are.

That is what Responsive Government means to me.

As Mayor, I will make City Hall easier to reach, easier to understand and more responsive to the people it serves. My plan sets clear standards for how City Hall responds to residents, communicates important information and manages the public facilities and services people rely on.

It starts with three practical changes:

✓ One request without the runaround

✓ Better information when something affects you,

✓ Better use of the public facilities and services Hamilton residents already pay for.

NO WRONG DOOR

Getting help from City Hall shouldn’t mean navigating a maze of departments to find the right person.

As mayor, Keanin Loomis will modernize Hamilton’s existing 905-546-CITY service into a recognizable 311 system and introduce a city-wide No Wrong Door approach, so residents can get help without being passed from department to department.

NEWS NEVER MISSED

If it affects you, you should know about it.

As Mayor, Keanin Loomis will make City Hall more proactive and transparent, ensuring residents are informed about decisions, projects and changes that affect their neighbourhoods without having to go looking for answers.

KEEPING PUBLIC FACILITIES OPEN

As Mayor, Keanin Loomis will make better use of Hamilton’s recreation facilities and public spaces, improving access, keeping residents informed about disruptions and finding practical ways to keep more services available to more people.
