Keanin Loomis is a husband, father of three, business leader, and community builder who has proudly called Hamilton home since 2009.
Alongside his wife Trish, a lifelong Hamiltonian, Keanin chose Hamilton to raise their family, build a career, and invest in the future of this city.
For the last 15 years, he has worked to strengthen Hamilton’s economy, support local jobs, and help build a city that works for everyone.
Keanin is running for Mayor because he believes Hamilton deserves leadership focused on service, teamwork, accountability and getting things done.
His mission is to Build a Better Hamilton for all.
Rooted In Hamilton
Since moving here in 2009, Hamilton has become home in every sense of the word.
In 2009, Keanin and his wife Trish, chose her hometown of Hamilton as the place to raise their children, build their future and invest in their community.
Like many Hamilton families, they care deeply about affordability, safe neighbourhoods, strong public services, and creating opportunities for the next generation to stay and succeed here.
Because Hamilton’s future should belong to the people building their lives here.
A Record of Leadership
Early Career & Education
After graduating from the University of Waterloo and William & Mary Law School, Keanin began his career in Washington, DC, working on major infrastructure projects at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

- 2009
Choosing Hamilton
Keanin moved to Hamilton in 2009 and soon became the founding Chief Operating Officer of Innovation Factory, helping launch Hamilton’s innovation economy and support local entrepreneurs and startups.

- 2013
Leading Hamilton's Business Community
As President & CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Keanin helped lead the business community through major economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Keanin was twice awarded the Bernie Gillespie Award for his demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and service to the chamber network across Ontario.

- 2013 – 2022
Running for Mayor of Hamilton
In 2022, Keanin stepped away from the Chamber to run a grassroots campaign for Mayor focused on change, accountability, and building a better Hamilton. His campaign energized thousands across the city and came within a narrow margin of victory.
- 2022 – 2024
Provincial Leadership
Following the election, Keanin served as Vice President of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, working with Queen’s Park and employers across Ontario on economic growth and investment.

- 2026
Today
Today, Keanin is President & CEO of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, representing an industry that is critical to Hamilton’s economy and advocating for Canadian jobs at a time when American steel tariffs threaten local workers, investment, and manufacturing competitiveness. He also serves on the Board of the Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority, a growing contributor to Hamilton’s economy.
