Keanin Loomis launches Building Bridges Listening Tour across Hamilton
July 17, 2026
The best housing projects are those that strengthen a community, not divide it. That means choosing the right location, listening to local voices, and ensuring new development works for both current and future residents.
The Mayor made a serious mistake by using strong mayor powers to push this project through on a site that the Stoney Creek community relies on.
I have spoken with every elected official representing Stoney Creek, and they have all told us there are better locations available for this affordable housing project—sites that can deliver much-needed housing without sacrificing a valued community space.
If I'm elected as your next Mayor, I will reverse the decision to build this project on the current site. I will work with Stoney Creek's elected representatives to move the development to a more suitable location that meets our affordable housing needs while respecting the priorities of the local community.
That’s how we build a better Hamilton.
